SEBI has granted conditional approval for the appointment of Vikram Limaye as the MD and CEO of the NSE. In February 2017, Limaye who is MD and CEO of infrastructure financing company IDFC was selected for the post of NSE chief. However, SEBI had not cleared his appointment as he was also present in the Supreme Court appointed four-member panel managing the affairs of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Shashi Shekar Vempati has been appointed as the CEO of Prasar Bharati based on the recommendation of the three-member committee headed by Vice President. The other two members of thecommittee was Chairman, Press Council of India and the Secretary, Information and Broadcasting, who was also the President's nominee. Shashi Shekar Vempati will hold the post for a period of five years. Since February 2016, Vempati is currently serving as a Member (part time) of the Prasar Bharati Board.

Election contestants will have to declare their own and their spouses sources of earning in the affidavits filed before contesting polls. At present, it is mandatory for the poll contestants to disclose the details of assets and liabilities for self, spouse and three dependents in Form 26 at the filing of nomination papers but not the source of income. The law ministry has announced an amendment to the conduct of election rules.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the Foundation Stone of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute at Gogamukh in Assam's Dhemaji district located on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. This will be the third Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). Apart from IARI in the national capital, the work on setting up of second IARI in Ranchi, Jharkhand has commenced.
